In 2026, CinemaNext handled the sale and installation of the new seating for the Futuroscope's Omnimax attraction, one of Europe's most iconic hemispherical laser projection theatres. The project was part of the complete interior renovation of the building, carried out to host T-Rex, the new immersive experience launched on 7 February 2026.
First unveiled in 1990 and then wrapped in its famous 35-metre glass cube in 1991, this French landmark has undergone a true transformation. To give audiences comfort worthy of the technology on display, the entire seating layout was renewed earlier this year. The 362 Ezcaray seats installed by CinemaNext were designed to follow the incline of the auditorium and guarantee a perfect line of sight to the giant 900 m² hemispherical screen from every seat in the house.
The new fit-out accompanies an exceptional technical upgrade: a 27-metre-diameter dome built from 600 new panels, 6K resolution, five laser projectors delivering a combined 250,000 lumens, and a spatialised sound system of 35 speakers including four subwoofers. The immersion is such that the audience physically feels the sound vibrations.
By renewing the seating in this one-of-a-kind venue — one of only five theatres of its type still operating in Europe — CinemaNext reaffirms its expertise in equipping the most demanding auditoriums and its ability to combine audience comfort with technological performance. The Futuroscope's Omnimax theatre is once again at its best, ready to amaze visitors of all ages.
