How CinemaNext Transformed a Classroom Into a Cinema for Spain's ESCAC Film School

At ESCAC - Escola Superior de Cinema i Audiovisuals de Catalunya, Spain’s leading film school, cinema is not only studied — it is lived.

On its Terrassa campus, a former classroom has been transformed into a brand-new screening room. A space that was never originally designed to be a cinema, and therefore represented an exciting challenge: to deliver a true cinematic experience while respecting the existing architectural limitations.

To make this possible, ESCAC once again placed its trust in CinemaNext, working closely with the architecture studio bAR. The goal was clear: to allow students to watch their own projects exactly as they are meant to be seen… on the big screen.

Now the second screening room at ESCAC, this new auditorium completes their educational journey and reinforces a key idea: learning about cinema also means experiencing cinema.

Thanks to CinemaNext solutions and systems — from image and sound integration to equipment, including our P-SBOX15 boothless solution and aluminium screen frame, not to mention the seating — a classroom has been transformed into a real cinema auditorium.

Because training future filmmakers also means giving them the space where their stories come to life.
