CinemaNext will have a strong presence at Den Nordke Kinokonferansen 2025, the Norwegian Cinema Conference taking place 3-6 November at Kristiansand Kino, as the industry gathers to address critical challenges facing Nordic and European exhibition.
The conference program reflects urgent industry priorities, with sessions dedicated to youth audience engagement, sustainability initiatives, and accessibility solutions. Notable international speakers include Vue CEO Tim Richards delivering the opening keynote, CinemaNext's Patrick von Sychowski, and UNIC's Phil Clapp providing European market perspectives.
Technology Innovation Takes Center Stage
Technical sessions will showcase next-generation cinema solutions, with presentations from Samsung on display technology, Dolby's Stefan Tiefenbrun and Christian Lerch covering the evolution from mono to Atmos and Dolby Vision accessibility, and Barco's Lorenzo Van Doorslaer presenting HDR technology capabilities. The Cinema Technology Committee (CTC) program on November 6 will address sustainability in projection technology, including preparations for Avatar sequels' technical requirements.
A critical panel discussion titled "Change in youth behaviour and platform preferences: How to reach the young ones" will tackle the industry's most pressing challenge. With speakers including Jens Lanestrand from Biografcentralen presenting data analytics for smaller cinemas, the conference addresses how Nordic exhibitors can reverse declining youth attendance.
Wednesday's program features comprehensive sessions on cinema accessibility, including Joanna Stankiewicz from Poznan presenting "Cinema Without Barriers" and discussions on the Norwegian Relæxt initiative for inclusive cinema experiences. These sessions reflect growing industry commitment to serving all audiences regardless of ability.
Samir Azirual from Dutch subscription service Cineville will present alternative revenue models, while Apollo Cinemas' Kadri Kalma shares strategies for increasing admissions through technology and concept innovation. Germany's award-winning Emotion Kino will present their successful independent cinema model.
CinemaNext's Nordic Commitment
CinemaNext representatives will be available throughout the conference to discuss comprehensive cinema solutions, from projection systems to automation and service contracts. The company's longstanding Nordic presence & experience positions it as a key technology partner for the region's evolving exhibition landscape.
The conference's focus on sustainability, accessibility, and audience engagement reflects broader European exhibition priorities as the industry navigates post-pandemic recovery while preparing for future technological and demographic challenges.
