CinemaNext to Participate in UNIC Cinema Days 2025

CinemaNext will be taking an active role at the upcoming UNIC Cinema Days 2025, scheduled for 20-21 November at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Brussels, Belgium. The annual gathering, organised by the International Union of Cinemas (UNIC), continues to serve as the premier platform for European cinema industry stakeholders to explore critical developments and emerging trends in theatrical exhibition.

This year's programme offers a particularly robust agenda addressing the industry's most pressing challenges and opportunities, from artificial intelligence applications and audience behaviour to sustainability initiatives and technological innovation. The two-day event maintains its successful format with specialised tracks, including dedicated Cinema Marketing and Cinema Technology Labs on the second day.

CinemaNext will be well-represented at the event with a strong delegation including Matthew Jones, Stefan Vogels, Araceli Vaello, Alexandra Body, and Patrick von Sychowski. Patrick von Sychowski, Digital Marketing & Communications Manager at CinemaNext, will feature as chair of the highly anticipated panel Beyond the Hype: Practical AI Solutions Driving Cinema Performance on 21 November. This session promises to move past buzzwords to explore real AI implementations that help cinema operators work smarter, examining everything from automated social scheduling to predictive concession ordering and audience segmentation. CinemaNext Solutions VP Araceli Vaello will meanwhile be one of the speakers during the important Next steps in energy and operational efficiency: mapping cinema’s innovation needs session.

The UNIC Cinema Days 2025 programme reflects the industry's evolving priorities with sessions covering:

  • Creating sustainable audience habits beyond blockbuster moments
  • Engaging silver-screen audiences and Gen Alpha filmgoers
  • Premium pricing strategies whilst maintaining accessibility
  • Cinema accessibility and sustainability initiatives
  • Energy efficiency and operational innovation
  • Content and infrastructure security challenges
  • Staff training and certification developments

The event opens with the UNIC Women's Cinema Leadership Programme on 20 November, featuring Javier Sotomayor, President of International at Cineworld Group, as inspirational speaker, continuing the initiative's vital work in developing future female cinema leaders.

Notable additions to this year's programme include focused discussions on the "Knock and Talk" technique for combating piracy, presented by the Motion Picture Association, and practical workshops from UNIC partners.

The Technology Lab continues to address critical infrastructure topics, with sessions co-produced by the European Digital Cinema Forum (EDCF), International Cinema Technology Association (ICTA), and Cinema Technology Community (CTC), covering security vulnerabilities, cybersecurity best practices, and hardware lifecycle management.

CinemaNext's participation in UNIC Cinema Days 2025 reinforces the company's position at the forefront of cinema innovation, particularly in the practical application of emerging technologies that deliver measurable results for exhibitors across Europe.
